The exhibition L'esprit du geste, presented at the Institut des Cultures d’Islam, invites reflection on the transmission of gestures and craftsmanship across time and cultures. Among the featured works, that of M’barek Bouhchichi stands out with its in-depth exploration of the muqarnas, an architectural motif of great complexity. By recreating the gestures of artisans, Bouhchichi fights against their disappearance and/or industrialization, while encouraging us to reflect on the preservation and transformation of heritage. This work can be discovered at the heart of the inaugural exhibition in the new spaces of the Rue Léon site, opening on February 25, 2025, in Paris.
