Mohamed Mourabiti was born in Marrakech in 1968.
A self-taught artist, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in Morocco and abroad. His passion for painting goes back as far as he can remember. After leaving high school to work, he followed a strict schedule to study painting under the guidance of visual arts teachers at Jaber Ibnou Hayane High School in Casablanca. Over time, his desire to paint became so compelling that he chose occupations that would allow him to devote most of his time to his passion.
Mourabiti founded the Al Maqam art space in Tahannaout. In 2008, he undertook a residency at the Cité des Arts.
His works are held in several public and private collections, including the National Museum in Amman, the FAAP Museum in São Paulo, the Shashoua Foundation in London, and the Margo and Anthony Viscusi Foundation in New York.
He lives and works in Tahannaout.
