Artist Mohamed El baz returns to the L'Atelier 21 art gallery in Casablanca, from January 16 to February 16, 2024, for his sixth solo exhibition entitled Ad Astra.
For several years now, Mohamed El baz has assigned art the mission of “Bricoler l'incurable”, an expression he borrowed from the writer Cioran. In this exhibition, entitled Ad Astra, in homage to James Gray's film of the same name, Mohamed El baz composes a universe that is both intimate and remote, as if the planets were more within reach than a bar of soap. This exhibition also exacerbates the artist's interest in three-dimensional works. Rarely has Mohamed El baz produced so many objects that break the boundaries between sculpture and a flat work hung on a wall.
