From June 13 to July 15, 2023, Moroccan artist Rebel Spirit takes over the L'Atelier 21 art gallery in Casablanca for the very first time, for a solo show entitled Autour du Grand Prix automobile du Maroc.
Rebel Spirit is a Moroccan visual artist who got his start in street art. From his adventure as a street artist, Mohammed Amine El Bellaoui - that's his real name - has kept the pseudonym with which he signed his street graffiti: Rebel Spirit. And yet, if there's one thing this artist is rebelling against, it's the empire of the contemporary, and the following of those who ride the wave of fashion. Indeed, Rebel Spirit is very attached to a popular fairy tale, rooted in the city of Casablanca, and belonging to the past. He is particularly interested in the carefree days of yesteryear, twentieth-century imagery and cultural markers of the past. This artist's universe is made up of ingredients that today would be described as vintage.
