In her photographic works, Majida Khattari revisits and recreates the clichés that dominate Orientalist painting. By reconstituting settings inspired by famous Orientalist compositions, Majida Khattari “contemporizes” her characters, endowing them with an uncertain status that is both fantasy and photographic reality.
