Mohamed El Baz talks about his new project in these terms: “I decided to call this new project ‘ON’, as a nose-thumbing at our community, at our fantasies of belonging. I'm not talking about this unreal, dreamy, out-of-place 'WE'... “.
The artist adds: “The new works presented are, in a way, ‘genetically modified’ historical situations... In my work, I have always questioned our presence in the world, our ambition to be active and alive in it... In view of contemporary historical events, I have conceived a mental journey and a real wandering in certain geographical and historical spaces that concern us in the first place... ”
