M’barek Bouhchichi is participating in the second edition of the Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial at Al Qattara Oasis. He presents a stainless-steel work that reimagines the pigeon tower, a form of vernacular architecture found from North Africa to the Emirates, as a space of refuge and passage. Its title is borrowed from Tayeb Salih’s Season of Migration to the North. A poem drawn from Al Nahma, the Emirati tradition of sailors’ work songs, unfolds in Braille through perforations and wooden elements across the structure.
