Saïd Afifi takes part in the Biennale des Imaginaires Numériques with a series of paintings that questions how we see landscape in the age of Google Earth. His aerial views depict no specific place: the satellite view gradually dissolves into dense, worked paint, where the layers evoke sediment. Lithosphere sets the slow time of matter against the instantaneity of digital images and draws a sensitive cartography of the Anthropocene.
